Very simplistic doc. The Winney the Pooh bedtime story narrarator I found annoying. It felt like the final moment of the film suggested Trump as a better angel? Because he says some lie about wanting to get chummy with the president of China! ? The doc had a few nice moments and storylines but it felt like a thinly veiled propaganda piece pro China. Seemed to ignore an entire history of the west’s presence in Shanghai.
Didn’t address the environmental issues that plague China. It has a nice tone towards the Chinese people and their strength and character against great odds. The story of the teacher using the abacus to teach focus training to children was very effective. But this is not an Oscar contender. Mr Rogers and Science Fair are superior docs that deserve that recognition.
